Depending on your desired outcome, we suggest a series of 6 sessions, 4-6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments every 6-12 months.

The downtime associated with chemical peels varies depending on the depth of the peel. Superficial peels have little to no downtime, while medium peels may require 2-4 days of recovery. Deep peels can have a downtime of 5-10 days, but their use is less common due to the availability of alternative treatments.

Risks & Side Effects

Although chemical peels are generally considered safe, it is essential to note that the risk of complications increases as the depth of the peel intensifies. Furthermore, the type of skin can also lead to some complications. Aftercare is important to minimise side effects and complications.

Complications can occur, including redness, swelling, itchiness, allergic reactions, infection, reactivation of cold sores, eye injury, hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation, milia formation, and demarcation lines. Rarely, chemical peels may lead to scar formation if deep peels are used.
